Risen Indeed
I feel like I have two hearts today. One heavy with war, with bombs, with bodies, with a world that keeps choosing violence. The other full of love for Middle Church’s beautiful community of faithful believers who gathered to celebrate Resurrection Sunday, the day we honor that Life is stronger than death, with such joy, grace, and love.
Sunday was especially close to my heart, as my granddaughter stood by my side and helped me serve communion while her little brother teased me. There is nothing more powerful than seeing generations come together in faith, love, and purpose. This is how we remember who we are. This is how we resist despair.
In a world that can feel heavy and uncertain, I am reminded that God’s light still shines brightly through community, compassion, and unwavering faith. We are never alone. God’s love surrounds us, and it lives within each of us. We must learn how to see. We must learn how to see Love anyway. We must learn how to see Love still working, even in the hardest moments. Listen to my sermon below.
Thank you to everyone who worshipped, prayed, and lifted one another up. Let us carry this spirit of hope, renewal, and togetherness beyond Easter and into each new day. Because resurrection is not a day. It is a decision. It is a practice. It is how we choose life in the face of everything that tries to destroy it.
Remember, we are rising, and Christ is risen indeed.
Love,
Jacqui
